Our experience with Erasmus+ “Healthy minds for Happy lives”
During the first week of October, we, students who took part in Erasmus+ KA2, started our experience in Bratislava. When we arrived at the airport, we were welcomed by two Slovak teachers, Zita and Agata. They drove us to school where the opening ceremony took place alongside with a fashion show organized by Slovak students, who sewed and modelled for the dresses themselves. Spojená Škola, in Bratislava, is a vocational school where students are taught styling, styling and marketing, photography and woodcraft. Once the ceremony was over we visited the school, which includes four pavilions, one for each course of study. In the afternoon we were accompanied by our host families and friends to their houses. The following days we participated at the activities organized by Slovak teachers and students, like Olympic games: after an opening ceremony, we joined 100m race, 4x100 relay and shot put, but most of us did not do very well. There were also activities like lessons held by all the teachers, workshops (woodcraft, styling, sewing, fit ball), a conference by Junior Achievement about marketing ( we were asked produce a toy considering costs of production and advertising. Obviously there weren’t just lessons, but we also visited the old city of Bratislava, tasted typical foods and danced to the tune of folk songs. We had the chance to meet the mayor of Bratislava, and to visit Vein as well, where we were amused by wonderful palaces, architectonic monuments and picturesque gardens. Furthermore, every evening some of us went out with their hosts to meet with other students and go to bars and pubs, while others stayed at home to watch movies or even go bowling. At the weekend, we Italian group, visited Budapest, went on a sightseeing tour around the city like perfect tourists to see the cathedral, the Ferris wheel, the castle and the bridge which joins Buda to Pest. Once we came back to Italy, we wanted to come back as soon as possible because we became friends with most of the other students and we had so much fun together. Our visit has been important to improve our English and to learn about different cultures. We will never forget this experience and we can’t wait for foreign students to come to Italy.
